The Friday Giveaway took a break for all of the preparation and execution of Free Comic Book Day last weekend. Here are the final stats from this annual event at the store:
265 happy recipients of free comic books
160 various cookies consumed
12 door prizes distributed
Over 1,500 comic books given away – (and counting)
50 customers satisfied with their free Iron Man Heroclix LE
10 customers dissatisfied because we ran out!
24 of us went to see Iron Man after we closed – GREAT MOVIE!!!
I say “and counting” above because we still have free comic books remaining! For at least 3 more days, we are making our leftovers available to anyone and everyone who comes in, before we pack them away for use with future promotions, etc. We’re all out of cookies and door prizes, but you can still experience a little bit of FCBD if you missed your copy of MAXIMUM RIDE #1 or the ATOMIC ROBO / NEOZOIC sampler!
Okay then…. on to our giveaway. Our last contest was for the IDENTITY CRISIS hardcover, and I’m proud to announce that we have a winner… the random roll of the dice pointed to David Alim-Young! David, stop by the store with a picture ID to claim your prize at anytime. On to this week’s item….
FRANK CHO is one of the most sought-after artists in comic books today. His most storied efforts have been on his self-created book LIBERTY MEADOWS, and he has most recently been at work on the interiors of MIGHTY AVENGERS, and writing the JUNGLE GIRL series (plus drawing the covers!). Turns out that Cho knows a lot about jungle girls, because our giveaway this week is the hardcover collection of his art on SHANNA THE SHE-DEVIL, the 2005 mini-series that he wrote and penciled.
To enter this contest, just leave a comment in response to this post with your FULL NAME, and a mention of any Frank Cho books you may have read or enjoyed (if you’ve never read any Cho, that’s ok!). We’ll need 10 commenters for the contest to become valid, contestants must be at least 18 or over to win, and your comment must be dated by May 13th. Winner will be chosen randomly at the conclusion of the contest.
