July Best Sellers

14 August 2008 285 views No Comment

For those who are new to the “Best Sellers” posts, these are the top 10 sellers in the gaming categories that we specialize in here at Clem’s:  board games, RPG games, and collectible pre-painted miniatures.  Furthermore, these are not necessarily the best-selling games HERE for our store, but the top 10 national sellers for these categories, information provided to us by our distributors.  Just something need to read over for those of you who like lists!

These are the best sellers for July:

Board Games:

1. Settlers of Catanimage
2. Munchkin
3. Catan: Traders & Barbarians
4. Race for the Galaxy
5. Arkham Horror
6. Fluxx 3.1
7. Zombies 7: Send in the Clowns
8. Carcassonne
9. Ticket to Ride
10. World of Warcraft the Adventure Game
11. Last Night on Earth
12. Ticket to Ride Card Game
13. Wings of War:  Immelman
14. Wings of Ward: Dogfight
15. Say Anything
16. Settlers of Catan 5-6 player expansion
17. Ticket to Ride Europe
18. Power Grid
19. Zombies!!!
20. Tribune

The only real “new game” that I notice on the list is Ticket to Ride the Card Game.  Overall a good month for all the normally strong sellers.

Role-Playing Games:image

1. D&D 4th Ed Players Handbook
2. D&D 4th Ed H2: Thunderspire Labyrinth
3. 40K RPG: Dark Heresy
4. Classic Battletech Technical Readout
5. Pathfinder #10
6. D&D 4th Ed Monster Manual
7. D&D 4th Ed Dungeon Masters Guide
8. D&D 4th Ed H1 Keep on the Shadowfell
9. Pathfinder #11
10. World of Darkness: Dogs of War

I found it surprising that there were only 2 D&D 4th Edition products in the Top 5, although they rebound to have 5 of the top 10.  Pathfinder #11 released toward the end of the month, otherwise there could have been 2 Paizo products in that top 5.  And it looks like the rescue of the 40K RPG by Fantasy Flight Games turned out to be a good move.

Pre-painted collectible minatures:image

1. Marvel Heroclix: Secret Invasion
2. D&D Miniatures: Against the Giants
3. Axis & Allies War at Sea Miniatures: Task Force
4. Marvel Heroclix: Fantastic Four starters
5. Dreamblade: Baxar’s War

How did frickin Dreamblade get on this list?  Even with Heroclix releasing at the end of the month, it easily eclipsed everything else.  This list will get especially competitive over the next couple months with a new expansion for Star Wars miniatures next week, and two new highly praised games, Monsterpocalypse and Mutant Chronicles both debuting at GenCon this weekend.
