Some news here about events we have coming up, both comic and game related, so check it out!

Sunday, February 7th, 6pm – Superbowl Sunday board game party – Yes, that’s right, for those of you who are either completely uninterested in the movements of football men this Sunday, or if you only have a passing interest in checking out the score between quarters so you can see if you won anything in your office pool, this is the party for you.  Bill Kellogg will have a bunch of board games in addition to all the demo copies we have at the store, and a moderate supply of snacks and drinks for all of you who’d like to spend our REAL national holiday in February, playing board games.

Thursday, February 11th, 6pm – Magic TCG Worldwake release tournament - Since we couldn’t squeeze our Worldwake release event into Superbowl weekend and avoid the playtimes at all of our competitors’ stores, we’re just going to run it this Thursday.  We will use the regular buy-in and prize payouts for our normal booster drafts (see http://www.clemslansing.com/wordpress/?page_id=160).  All participants will get a copy of the promo Joraga Warcaller card that was released for this event, and a set of promo land from the new WorldWake set.   PLUS the winner will get the live-size cardboard cutout of Sorin Markov that we’ve had sitting behind the counter!  NICE!!

Monday, February 15th through Saturday, February 20th – Comic subscription customer rewards week – If you’re a regular preorder customer through Clem’s Comics & Games, you can get a special grab-bag package of 15 comic books for free!!!  All you have to do is stop by the store that week and if your comic pull file is EMPTY (meaning, you’re caught up!), you can get this package of issues free of charge.  Every one will have at least a few #1 issues, and a wide selection of different genres to make sure there’s something worth reading for everybody.

Saturday, February 20th, Noon - The Lansing Board Gamers return to Clem’s (and Downtown Subs)!! If you’ve been here for this event in 2009, you know how much fun this is… usually 30-40 people in and out all day, playing all manner of board games that you can imagine.  And with so many great lunch places downtown, especially the one you’ll be sitting in, you can make a whole day out of it, or just stop in for a quick game in the afternoon or evening.  Dave Rogers does a great job with this group and these events, and we’re really happy to have them here every other month!
